Fox Service Company, a locally owned, multitrade service provider that works with air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems, has begun installing and servicing FuelMaker compressed natural gas refueling stations for residences and businesses, a move that some businesses say could bring CNG vehicles to the forefront of Central Texans’ attention.

Volkswagen Displays CNG Passat at the Bologna Motor Show
Volkswagen is exhibiting both propane and natural gas at the Bologna Italy Motor Show in bi-fuel models. The Passat Ecofuel comes from the VW factory equipped with a 1.4 liter turbo charged direct injection enginethat can run on natural gas or unleaded. The Passat’s CNG tanks are under the floor board and do not impact passenger or cargo room and can drive 311 miles before switching to the unleaded reserve tank giving it total of a 559 mile range total.
FuelMaker Drops Hours of Service Intervals on Phill
FuelMaker Corporation recently announced that every Phill unit produced after Sept 22, 2008, will no longer have a mandatory 6000 hour service interval. It will be up to the customer and local dealers to determine when a unit needs to be refurbished. When units are repaired or refurbished they will in turn no longer have a mandatory service interval. The standard warranty of 1000 hours or 1 year, whichever comes first, coverage will not change.
Toyota Decides To Give Natural Gas Cars Another Chance
Toyota displayed a CNG Hybrid Camry at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Toyota produced a natural gas Camry for several years in the past then dropped it.

CNG Chevrolet Taxi Races Road Rally in Peru
A natural gas Chevy Taxi raced in the 4500 kilometer road rally Caminos del inca. It came in 16th of 86 entries and was one of only 25 cars to finish the race. According to the pilot of the car, Jose Camayo, manufacture and design of the car is excellent, which was demonstrated by the results obtained during the competition. Only 25 cars completed the race, including the Chevy Taxi with NGV.
Oklahoma State University to Buy 10 Alternative-Fuel Vehicles
Oklahoma State University soon will buy 10 alternative fuel sedans for the school’s motor pool. The Chevrolet Impala sedans will cost about $160,5000 and will have a compressed natural gas conversion option. OSU transportation services manager Chris Hoffman says the vehicles will be used locally and for trips under 250 miles. He says an original equipment manufacturer in Oklahoma will perform the CNG conversion on the vehicles. OSU President Burns Hargis already has said the university plans to build a CNG fueling station on its Stillwater campus. OSU also is considering buying CNG-powered buses for on-campus use. Hoffman says OSU now has no hybrid vehicles but expects that some will be purchased in the future.
Stockholm Taxis To Stock Up On Natural Gas Mercedes
Swedish Taxi operator, Taxi Stockholm is continuing its strong commitment to the environment, ordering 60 Mercedes E200 natural gas models and 51 B170 model natural gas model taxis. This will bring the taxi fleet to 250 natural gas vehicles in a 1465 cab fleet. Taxi Stockholm has a goal of reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by 40%.
